چکیده

Status of this Memo This document provides information for the Internet community. This memo does not specify an Internet standard of any kind. Distribution of this memo is unlimited. IESG Note: This memo documents a private protocol for IPv4-based flows. This protocol is NOT the product of an IETF working group nor is it a standards track document. It has not necessarily benefited from the widespread and in depth community review that standards track documents receive. Abstract The Ipsilon Flow Management Protocol (IFMP), is a protocol for allowing a node to instruct an adjacent node to attach a layer 2 label to a specified IP flow. The label allows more efficient access to cached routing information for that flow. The label can also enable a node to switch further packets belonging to the specified flow at layer 2 rather than forwarding them at layer 3.

IPv 4 Traffic Offload Selector Option for Proxy Mobile IPv

This specification defines a new mobility option, the IPv4 Traffic Offload Selector option, for Proxy Mobile IPv6. This option can be used by the local mobility anchor and the mobile access gateway for negotiating IPv4 traffic offload policy for a mobility session. Based on the negotiated IPv4 traffic offload policy, a mobile access gateway can selectively offload some of the IPv4 traffic flows...

Dissemination of Flow Specification Rules

This document updates RFC5575 which defines a Border Gateway Protocol Network Layer Reachability Information (BGP NLRI) encoding format that can be used to distribute traffic flow specifications. This allows the routing system to propagate information regarding more specific components of the traffic aggregate defined by an IP destination prefix (IPv4, IPv6), MPLS addresses, L2VPN addresses, an...

New Possibilities Offered by IPv6

The new Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) [1] has many simplifications and new features compared to the older Internet Protocol version 4 (IPv4) [2]. The new header is very simple. A fixed format is assigned to all headers. Some new fields were added to the header. Flow ID indicates that the packet belongs to a certain flow. A flow is identified by the source address, destination address, and ...

Internet Protocol version 6 Overview

IP stands for “Internet Protocol” and it was designed during the ‘70s with the purpose of interconnecting heterogeneous network technologies. IP was a huge success, and made it possible to create today’s Internet. Currently, the Internet is predominantly using the fourth version of IP (IPv4), however the huge success of the Internet is pushing IPv4 to its limits. The Internet Engineering Task F...
